Hey everyone,
Welcome to the 34th edition of The Saturday Symphony.
Oh mehn doesn’t #NanoWriMo have me by the…well, it really has me at its mercy. Nineteen days in and I’ve ploughed through 38000 words. I’m in the final three/four/five chapters of the Realms of the Mist sequel.
This may seem like an accomplishment but by Wednesday I should have moved on to my other WIP, a poetry book that’s halfdone, due for release next year, Autumn 2023 (sneak peeks at the end of this feature).
I’m about to go very dark and put down 20k words by close of Tuesday, and I’ll hope to be celebrating a completed 1st draft by wednesday. Pray for me.
I haven’t written on wordpress this week, because as my author brand expands to a new site(twitter), I’m alternating posts with wordpress. This next one is WP week so I will pelt you with more original works. I give loads of Tender Love and Care to anything I write, so I guess that’s loads of love to the reader (yeah, I’m definitely bribing you just now).
This Saturday, in between the curated works from the wp community, I’ll share some of my twitter poetry. It is getting a nice modest reception, which is encouraging. Still loads for me to learn.
Alright then, on to the Symphony. Keep an extra eye on the images.
In the dark hour before dawn I scale the precipice of loneliness. If only for a glimpse of a dream But hope is a pedestal And nightmare is the voyeur of the deep. In darkness I delve for meaning For only there does evil sleep Only there can I give peace to what haunts me

Virtue comes from the divine Yet sin knows all the sweet spots It was odd that her Sunday-best lured the most lecherous appetites While a sleazy Saturday hooked the holiest of suitors Her vespers were draped in purity As latenights laced profanity How could she judge #Ugly… when pain seared such divine pleasures when goodness in a man stirred most sinful thoughts Was she doomed to titter on the edge of fine trims and naked temptations Or was she blessed…

In the nebula of language I scry a fitting phrase To name my heart's devotion: For you of sparkling gaze- Habib beneath the veil For you of plushest lips Isithandwa on the savannah I whisper 'Mi Amour' in our boudoir Aijin beneath the blossoms Te Amo Mpenzi Swoon, my love...

Last month’s ponderous submissions. Spooks and Creeps
I enter your dreams and haunt you there. For it is there that…
Krueger by Maria Michaela
while sulky mist wanders through bare-boned trees
mournful crows lend shrill mythic caws…
Bedraggled wishes by Eugi.
The rat ate the poisoned cheese. And being the prankster that I am, I let the body decay and hid the bones in a velvet sack…
Calamity Cules by Jules
Tell them to stay away from the tombstones
And the creaking deadwood in the graveyard
Something scary by Sadje
This world once bled me dry
It stole love and crashed hope
Darkness fell from eyes that witnessed
and I waded brackish tears
and I drowned in bottomless fears
and in that bleakness I became an empty canvas
Traced my pain in ink
til words became art
From resin to #shellac

As promised, for the poetry lovers, about my poetry book coming next autumn (2023), you heard it here first;
It’s about mental health/illness and Spirituality. Be ready for a unique format
I have a couple of bombastic titles I’m considering; to be revealed in due course.
For the novel lovers, I hope the realms sequel will blow your minds. I’ve put in so much work to take my writing a notch higher, and the story was always meant to have the reader by the…yap. (Summer 2023!)
The times the best of times when bail was a dime and a dollar when a stretch of cleavage opened doors and a flash of chissled chest glistened tired gaze A time of redhot lips and tiktak wits smoking dames ń dancing heartthrobs Her name was Cookie He was her Johnieboy

Thank you Merrild. I followed back. As for it closing, I had a plan to expand to instagram and bookbub next year when I’ve added two more books to my catalog so I’ll stick with that, as I work with twitter.

Awesome post, Jude and thank you for the mention. You’re very busy indeed my friend. I do hope you still take time to rest for a bit. I’m excited for the things you’re doing and continue to do. Praying for your success 🙏

Thank you so much, Michaela. Don’t worry. I’m still going to watch the world cup and I still get time to exercise regularly, and i’m keeping up with my studies. I need to finish these drafts this November coz then exams will be mere weeks away, and next year I’ll be in final year, plus writing the final book of the trilogy, so I don’t want to carry too much forward.🙏🏽

Thank you so much, Jane. For now as long as I’m doing it and improving, I’m happy. Then I can work on living the dream side of things, years from now.

How wonderful for you, Jude. I think my time with Twitter has come to an end. I’m moving in the direction of Instagram to share poetry and posts. Keep up the good writing work. You’ve got this!! 💜

I know you’ll do well on instagram. I’ll join instagram after my two books next year, when I also have gadgets that can take standard pictures. I have so many ideas for visually promoting my books, but twitter gives me a space to just say what’s on my mind in 140 characters, so I’m not abandoning ship just yet.

Yes… we should all do what we must to promote our books. I just deactivated my Twitter. It’s time to move on and do better things—for me. LOL! 💜

Wherever you are, l can always find you on your website.
I’m staying on twitter coz I know it’s 50/50 Musk either crashes twitter or takes it to the next level. If I had something to lose by staying, I’d maybe leave, but I still have everything to gain. I’m meeting new people every other day, still yet to discover more writing communities, learning loads, and I can tweet on the go, which is such a good balance with wordpress where I need to prepare.

Good for you. My research says musk will make Twitter obsolete. He wants to make money. Did you know he created Pay-Pal, and later sold it? That’s what he is after… a crypto-currency-ish site that you will have to pay for. I’m always on the blogs. That won’t change. 💜

This is wonderful writing, Jude, and the poems of others that you shared were also brilliant!

Thank you so much, K. Sometimes I just pray and begin ticking off that to-do list. It helps that I love almost everything on it, even the rapid exams because that means I finish a year sooner.

Thank you for the mention, Jude, and good luck in all that you do. I’m hoping Twitter stays alive but if not there are always other platforms to showcase your work. I like Colleen’s idea of moving to Instagram.

I do intend to eventually expand to IG but I don’t want to leave twitter, even with Musk, it’s still a top social media site. And you have to be mindful that Musk can take twitter to another level entirely, and this is a cleaning house faze.

I’m not leaving Twitter because I enjoy the poets, writers and the cat lovers group. I just block those I don’t want to see.
